Charlie arrived at the airport. In four hours, he would be flying to Italy to sing in his first international song contest.

He was very worried. Was he afraid of singing in public? No. Many people looked at him when he dropped his bag, but he felt no emotion. He did not mind being the center of attention.

Three hours to go. He was still worried. Was he afraid of forgetting the words? No. He could even remember his passport number. His memory was good.

Two hours. Was he afraid of singing badly? No. His mother had told him that when he was a child he could sing before he could talk. He had had fourteen years of experience.

He looked at his watch. One hour. Was he afraid of losing? No. People tried to be the first on the plane to find space for their bags. Charlie was last, but he was happy to use whatever space was left. He wanted to win the tournament, but he knew it would not be easy. Children from 80 countries would be there.

He put on his safety belt. Hearing the engine, he felt more worried than ever. Then he understood why he was worried. He was afraid of flying.
